Seattle gets the immediate benefit of beginning 1–0, but Darnold’s availability is the major item to monitor before the next matchup. New England has more time to review how its passing game handled Seattle’s coverage and pressure. Maye’s willingness to attack is valuable, but the opener showed the cost when those attempts turn into takeaways.
One Week 1 result does not define an 18-week season. It does establish the first set of corrections: Seattle must stabilize its quarterback plan, while the Patriots must find a better balance between aggression and possession.
